Mystery Annotation

7 comments:

  1. I always love how nice you annotations look. they look like flyers that can be handed out to people. However, the summary of book you chose sounds more like a forbidden romance than a mystery. The only mystery I detect is the random bones, but you don't really develop on that part of the story. Based on this annotation, I'm not sure I would categorize it as a mystery.

    1. I can see what you mean. I will rework a couple of sentences and see if that makes it a little stronger. I do have to leave the part with DCI and Ruth because that is a HUGE part of the series as it moves along. Please come back and read it once I make the changes, see what you think.

    2. It has been re-worked, I think it made the mystery part a bit stronger.

  2. Hi Shannon,

I have heard of the Ruth Galloway series but haven't read them. They sound like they have a darker, gritty tone?
I like Julia Spencer-Fleming's Clare Fergusson series which has that kind of feel. The relationship between Fergusson and the local police chief is as compelling as the cases they solve together and makes readers look forward to the next book in the series. Did you like the book?

    1. That does sound similar. The tone can be darker and gritty, yet I sometimes crack up at Ruth's sense of humor. LOVE these books!
