Horror Genre Annotation: the Strain

4 comments:

  1. Its strange, to me, for movie directors to go from film making to book writing. Usually, it is the other way around where authors go into the film industry because someone wants to bring their story to life. However, if anyone can do it, its Del Toro. I think Del Toro is a wonderful film maker, always focusing on the dark side of things, which I love. This book has been on my list to read for awhile and I have managed to hold out from watching the TV series. It will definitely be making its way on the short list of "what book I will read next?" list. Nice annotation.

    1. My kids loved Del Toro's Troll Hunters and Three Below, but found the book to be a little too graphic. Sometimes reading the horror/scary parts is harder than watching them! I think he's done a great job transitioning!

    2. These books are scary! One of the only books that would really bother me when I turned off the lights at night. I had finished the books when the TV series was announced and I was so excited... and the tv series was great! I re-watched the pilot over the weekend and forgot how much I enjoyed it. I think I am going to grab my 14 year old son to binge watch the whole series again :)
