It sounds like Charlaine Harris would be a good read alike author for this book, too! Particularly her Sookie Stackhouse series (The Southern Vampire Mysteries). Did you enjoy this book?
ReplyDeleteI didn't go with Sookie because of her not hunting and killing vampires, zombies, and other preternatural enemies. She could hear thoughts but I didn't have her as the hunting and killing in a scary way that Anita, Sonja Blue, and the others did. They can be pretty brutal! And yes, I love this series!
ReplyDeleteDid you personally like this book? Enough to continue the series? Some of the aspects (the pay phones and pagers, lol) haven't aged well, but I thought the rest of it did ok. Have you seen or read the Marvel comic adaptation? Great pick for an urban fantasy and your readalikes are spot on. Full points!
